Broomieknowe pair win the Gibson Cup

In near perfect conditions for golf, the Centenary of the Gibson Cup took place at the Braid Hills golf course over the weekend of 29th/30th September. The winners of Sunday afternoon’s matchplay final were Wendy Nicholson and Jennifer Henderson ) both from Broomieknowe Golf Club. Wendy and Jennifer are pictured above with the Cup presented to them at the Prizegiving by Bailie Alastair Paisley who was representing the Lord Provost’s Office since the Cup had originally been donated by Lord Provost James Gibson in 1907.
The Consolation Salver was won by Ruth Brown and Christine Clements of Lothianburn GC, pictured below. A fuller report on all the weekend’s golf and Centenary celebrations together with a picture gallery will follow later this week.
