PAT TURVEY PASSES AWAY
It is with deep regret that the ILGU has learned of the death of Pat Turvey, past secretary of the Union from 1984-2000.
Following the retirement of Ms Kathleen Callaghan in 1983, Ms Turvey picked up the Irish Ladies Golf Union’s administrative reigns in 1984, a post she held for almost 16 years. In addition to orchestrating the Union’s Centenary Celebrations in 1993, she oversaw the move of Headquarters to Clonskeagh Square early in her appointment and was key to delivering enhanced services to an ever-increasing vibrant membership.
A native of Clontarf, she will be fondly remembered by the Union membership as a role-model in the advancement of efficient administration and will be missed by her many golfing friends.
