KRYSTLE AND ROSEANNE SLIP OUT
OF TOP TWENTY IN CALIFORNIA
TOURNAMENT

Krystle Caithness and Roseanne Niven dropped out of the leading 20 in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate, one of the leading women's 54-hole tournaments on the American college golf circuit.
They were not alone in finding the Saturday conditions in California tougher than the first day over the Stanford University course (par 71, 6089yd) - Tiger Woods' old stamping ground - tournament leader American Curtis Cup ace Amanda Blumenherst (pictured) had her first over-par round (a 73) of the college season.
Georgia University freshman student Krystle, 18, from Cellardyke, Fife has scored 73 and 76 for 149. and a share of 21st place. She had four birdies in her first round but none in her second.
Roseanne Niven, also 18, from Crieff and a second-year student at the Univerity of California Berkeley, has had rounds of 73 and 77 for 150 and is joint 28th. In her second round she dropped seven shots over the last eight holes. Highlight was a string of four birdies in a row from the seventh to the 10th. Lowlights were a double bogey 6 at the fifth and a double-bogey 7 at the 12th.
English women's amateur stroke-play champion Jodi Ewart (New Mexico University) from Catterick, Yorkshire, is sharing third place on 144, five shots behind tournament leader Blumenherst. Jodi has scored 69 and 75 for 144. She had double bogeys at the short third and long 16th in her second round which also included birdies at the fourth, sixth, ninth and 10th.
The field of 93 players includes most of the leading players on the US women's college circuit.
