Mail on Sunday Golf Classic

Well done to the Stirling Ladies Mail on Sunday team who became the first ever ladies team to reach the Grand Finals for a third time. They played the UK Final at Worsley Park, Manchester where they were drawn against Bedale Golf Club from Yorkshire. The team of Vicki Stevenson, Fiona Campbell, Tricia Chillas, Elaine Allison, Alison Davidson and Shelagh Quinn recorded a 3 ½ to 1 ½ win. They are now off to El Rompido late November for the final where they will be joined by the Glenbervie Men’s team who defeated Painswick 4 -1.


Volvo Amateur Masters Championship

Congratulations also to Elaine Allison who won the Volvo Amateur Masters Women’s Championship at Wentworth. She beat off stiff competition – including former professional Tracy Atkins - to win her place in the final at La Quinta in Spain. Players from all over the world will meet in Spain to contest the Final and will round off their week with a visit to Valderamma for the Volvo Masters.
