US College women's round-up

KELLY BROTHERTON'S 25th PLACE FINISH
AT DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA

Former Scottish Under-21 girls champion Kelly Brotherton (University of Tennessee-Chattanooga) finished 25th in a field of 79 players for the Xavier Invite women's college tournament over the LPGA Champions' Course at Daytona Beach, Florida.
Kelly had rounds of 76, 79 and 76 over the par-72, 6,225yd course.
Stacey Rodger from Sussex, a freshman student at Missouri State University, finished joint 26th on 232 with scores of 80, 74 and 78.
Ann Maness (Coastal Carolina) was the winner with a two-over-par total of 218, made up of scores of 73, 70 and 75.
Linda Persson (Lamar) finished a shot behind in second place with rounds of 73, 69 and 77.
Florida Athletic (906) won the team event from Coastal Carolina (909), Missouri State and Tennessee-Chattanooga (both 910) and Lamar (913) in a field of 14 teams.

SINEAD AND LUCY IN TOP 20 OF AZTEC FALL CLASSIC

Irish international Sinead O'Sullivan (East Tennessee State) and team-mate Lucy Gould, a former Welsh girls champion, were lying joint seventh and 15th respectively on 74 and 75 after the first round of the Aztec Fall Classic women's tournament at Salt Creek Golf Club (par-72, 6216yd), Chula Vista in California.
Sinead had halves of 37, while Lucy was out in 38 and home in 37.
Clara Leathers from Aylesbury, a student at Middle Tennessee State, was in joint 50th position on 79 (43-46) in a field of 104 players.
UC Irvine (297) lead the team event from Hawaii State (301), East Tennessee State (302) and San Diego State4 (304) in a field of 19 teams.
