2008 JUNIOR RYDER CUP TO BE PLAYED
AT BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY
The PGA of America has announced that next year's Junior Ryder Cup will take place on September 15 and 16 at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
In partnership with Ryder Cup Ltd., the PGA has expanded the format to include foursomes, mixed four-ball and singles competition.
The US team will consist of six boys and six girls who are members of the 2009 high school graduating class or younger.
Exemptions will be awarded to the US boys’ and girls’ champions of 2008 and the top-two boys and girls finishers from the Junior PGA Championship.
The top-two boys and girls in the Junior Ryder Cup point standings will also receive automatic berths to the biennial competition.
The 2007 Junior Ryder Cup, played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales, ended in a 6-6 draw.
