Birdies were abundant in the semi-finals of the 62nd Women's International Four-ball tournament at Orangebrook Golf Club, Hollywood in Florida today.
The top two seeds advanced to a showdown on Friday. US Curtis Cup team selection Meghan Bolger from Haddenfield, New Jersey and Jill Hardy from Winnipeg, Canada defeated Taffy Brower and Ann Pohira by 4 and 3.
Ten out of the 15 holes in this match were decided by birdies.
Kelly Calkin (pictured left in action today) from Palm Coast - the only Florida player in the final - and Kristy McLaughlin from Wasseca Beach, Canada had six birdies out of 16 holes and beat Anna Schultz and Jewell Malick by 3 and 2. Anna had three birdies in a losing effort.
