AMI STOREY FROM PONTELAND TOP SCORES

WITH 36PT IN FESTIVAL STABLEFORD 2

University student Ami Storey (Ponteland Golf Club) had the day's best points score in the Hacienda del Alamo Women's Winter Golf Festival Stableford 2 competition today.

Ami scored 36pt after picking up 19 of them on the outward half. She won by three points in Class 1 (handicaps under five) from Charlotte Dalton (Ladbrook Park), playing off three.

Warrenpoint teenager Tara Gribben top-scored in Class 2 (handicaps 5 and over) with 34pt off five. She had 18 points on the outward half, winning her section by 2pt from Karen Ogilvy, a 16-handicap Auchterarder GC member.

Meghan MacLaren (Wellingborough) won the girls' section with 30pt off seven of a handicap.

Scotland's Jenna Wilson scored the first win of her pro career in the professionals section. She compiled 33pt off the blue tees, slightly farther back than the reds from which the amateurs played.

Marjet van der Graaf (Netherlands) was runner-up with 32pt, one ahead of third placed Natasha Morgan from Wales.
