BUSY KATY McNICOLL FINISHES
JOINT SIXTH IN PEGGY KIRK BELL TOURNAMENT IN FLORIDA
Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll (Lynn University, Florida), playing in her second US women's college golf circuit tournament within seven days, finished joint sixth in a field of 72 for the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at Tuscawilla Country Club, West Springs, Florida.
Katy, pictured right, had rounds of 78, 73 and 76 for a total fo 227 over a par-72 course of 6,089yd.
She finished five shots behind the two-stroke winner, Laura Fourdraine (Rollins College) who had scores of 75, 73 and 74 for 222.
Lynn University (927) finished fourth of 13 in the team event won by Rollins College (901) by five shots from Nova Southeastern University.
NATASHA IN JT 34TH PLACE IN NEVADA
Natasha Podmore from Cheshire, a student at San Francisco Univesity, is in joint 34th place with one round to go in the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational at Boulder Golf Club, Boulder Creek in Nevada.
Over a par-72 course of 6,204yd, Natasha has scored 76 and 73 for 149.
Cathryn Bristow (Oregon) and Kelly Nakashima (Idaho) are setting the pace on 138, Cathryn with a pair of 69s and Kelly with 68 and 70.
LUCY AND EAST TENNESSEE STATE SLIP
BACK ON FINAL DAY AT PINEHURST
Lucy Gould (East Tennessee State) from Bargoed, Wales slipped back to a final position of joint seventh in the Pinehurst Challenge women's college tournament over the No 8 course at Pinehurst Golf Resort, North Carolina.
Over a par 72 course of 5,968yd, Lucy scored 75, 74 and 78 for 227 to finish 10 shots behind the German individual winner, Steffi Kirchmayer (College of Charleston) with 73, 75 and 69 for 217.
She won by five shots from Emelie Lind (East Carolina) (75-74-72) with Emma deGroot (Chattanooga-Tennessee) third on 223 with scores of 75, 74 and 74.
Anna Scott (Georgia State) from Consett, Co Durham had ever-improving scores of 81, 76 and 73 for 230 and joint 16th place.
Channel Islander Olivia Higgins (Charleston Southern) scored 80, 76 and 78 for a share of 32nd place on 235.
Ireland's Sinead O'Sullivan (East Tennessee State) also improved each round with scores of 84, 78 and 76 for 238, which placed her just inside the top 50 at joint 49th place.
Another Irish student, Dawn Marie Conaty (Memphis) tied for 66th place on 242 with scores of 83, 83 and 76.
England's Portia Abbot and Laura Cutler, both students at Jacksonville State, finished joint 83rd on 245. Portia scorted 81, 83 and 81, Laura 85, 86 and 74.
East Carolina University won the team title with a total of 910. East Tennessee State, the leaders after two rounds, finished second on 920 with Augusta State third on 924.
Georgia State, Oregon State and North Carolina-Greensboro tied for fourth place on 927.
Colette Murray's Tennessee-Chattanooga team came seventh on 929 with Jacksonville State (952) 14th, Memphis (962) joint 18th, and Charleston Southern (978) 20th.
