HANNAH BURKE FIFTH IN TEXAS

Hannah Burke (Baylor University, Texas) from Wiltshire finished a creditable joint fifth in the Texas A&M "Mo"-Morial at Traditions Golf Club, Bryan in Texas.
In a high-scoring tournament over a par-72, 6,224yd course - suggesting either a tough course or bad weather - Hannah had scores of 77, 77 and 78 of 16-over-par 232.
She double bogeyed the short ninth in 41 for the outward nine and then birdied the 13th and 15th.
The tournament was won with a five-over 221 total by Sara Brown (Michigan State) who scored 78, 70 and 73.
Michigan State also supplied the joint runner-up in Aimee Neff (74-86-69) who tied with Stephanie Sherlock (Denver) (77-78-74) on 229.
Ireland's Tara Delaney (Kent State) scored 78, 81 and 76 for joint ninth place on 235 in a field of 81.
Danielle McVeigh (Texas A&M) from Northern Ireland could not play in the second round because of an undisclosed injury. She had a 78 in the first round and an 83 in the third.
Michigan State, not surprisingly, won the team event by 11 shots with a total of 931. Denver (940) were second and Tulsa third on 956. Kent State and Texas A&M tied for fourth place on 962.
Baylor (1003) finished joint 11th in a field of 15 teams.
