LAURA CUTLER TOP OF THE
BRITS IN SAMFORD
INTERCOLLEGIATE
Laura Cutler (Jacksonville State University) from Nottingham finished joint 13th in a field of 84 for the Samford Women's Intercollegiate tournament at Oneonta, Alabama this week.
Laura, pictured right, had rounds of 77, 71 and 81 for a total of 229 over the par 72, 5808yd course at Limestone Springs Golf Club.
Team-mate Portia Abbott from Wiltshire came joint 24th with rounds of 77, 79 and 76 for 232.
Andrea Downer (Murray State University) from Surrey finished joint 17th on 230 with scores of 70, 77 and 83.
Shirley Harvey (South Alabama) from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland finished joint 51st with rounds of 78, 86 and 77 for a total of 241.
Emma deGroot, recruited to the Tennessee-Chattanooga team by Scottish head coach Colette Murray, won the individual honours by six strokes with rounds of 72, 71 and 68 for five-under-par 211.
Michaela Cavener (Tulsa) was runner-up with 74, 70 and 73 for 217.
Tulsa (884) won the team event from Tennessee-Chattanooga (901) with Jacksonville State (913) third. Murray State (917) came sixth of 15 with South Alabama (942) 10th.
