BRIGGS SISTERS ON COURSE
TO MEET IN RENFREWSHIRE
FINAL AT BONNYTON
Kilmacolm Golf Club's Briggs sisters - defending champion Megan and younger sibling Eilidh - could meet in Thursday afternoon's final of the Renfrewshire women's county golf championship at Bonnyton Golf Club.
Megan, the 18-year-old No 1 seed, cruised through to the last four with wins over Linda McDougal (Greenock) and Gillian McGinlay (Cochrane), while Eilidh had a 5 and 4 win over Denise Cowan (Cochrane Castle) and then prevailed by 3 and 2 over Beth Paterson (Eastwood).
Many times county champion Donna Jackson (Cochrane Castle), the No 5 qualifier this year, will present a tough test for Megan Briggs (Cal Carson image right, all rights reserved) in the first semi-final.
Eilidh, the 14-year-old No 3 qualifier, meets the No 2 seed, Sara McCorkell (Williamwood) in the second semi-final.
The 18-hole final will tee off at 2pm.
