KELSEY MISSES NORTHERN COUNTIES
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN
Nairn Dunbar's top teenage golf prospect Kelsey MacDonald is to miss the Northern Counties women's amateur championship for the second year in a row.
Last year, the championship clashed with the Helen Holm Scottish women's stroke-play championship so Kelsey was in that field at Troon.
Next month's Northern Counties tournament, to be held at Brora Golf Club for the first time from May 3 to 5, clashes with the Ladies Scottish Open professional championship at The Carrick at Cameron House.
Kelsey has accepted an invitation from the Ladies European Tour to play in it.
The number of entries for the Northern Counties women's championship is disappointingly low and, with the deadline set for Friday, Brora Golf Club women's captain Angela MacBeath will accept entries by telephone (01408 621 275).
