No birdies but Sinead is
in joint fifth place

Sinead O'Sullivan (East Tennessee State University) from Galway is in joint fifth place after a 78 in the first round of the Atlantic Sun Women's College Championship at The Ridges Golf & Country Club, Jonesborough, Tennessee.
Team-mate Laura Jansone was the only player to mnaster the par-72 course which is "only" 6,175yd long. She shot a five-under-par 67 to open up a nine-stroke lead.
Sinead did not have a single birdie on her card which included a double bogey 6 at the 11th and other shots dropped at the first, fifth, ninth and 13th.
Twice former Welsh girls champion Lucy Gould, also a student at East Tennessee State, is lying joint 23rd in a field of 40 players after a nightmare round of 85. She ran up a 9 at the par-4 15th and a double bogey 7 at the long 10th. She did have birdies at the short seventh and long 15th in halves of 38 and 46.
