QUADRUPLE BOGEY 9 COSTS
JODI EWART THE LEAD
IN NEW MEXICO

Yorkshire-born Jodi Ewart (New Mexico University dropped back to joint second place in the second round of the Mountain West Women's Conference college golf championship over her home college course at Albuquerque.
Catterick Golf Club member Jodi, the English women's amateur stroke-play champion and a member of the GB&I Curtis Cup team to play the United States over the Old Course, St Andrews at the end of May, returned a 75 for 147 over the par-73, 6167yd course.
Jodi's hopes of repeating her victory of last year in the tournament took a knock when she ran up a quadruple bogey 9 at the 499yd par-5 fifth. She had earlier birdied the long first and par-4fourth holes.
She dropped another shot at the 11th but did get one back with a 2 at the short 17th to come home in 35.
New Mexico team-mate Britney Choy took over the top spot in the field of 35 players with a 71 for 145.
New Mexico (589) have a clear lead in the team event from Brigham Young (603) and UNLV (614).
