VICKI'S GRANDSTAND FINISH

Vicki Laing, pictured right, shot a final round of eight-under-par 64 to finish seventh and collect a cheque for $2,223 in the Futures Tour's Jalapeno Classic over the 6,357yd Palm View course, McAllen, Texas (on Sunday).
Only tournament winner, 17-year-old Vicky Hurst from Florida, matched the Scot's great last round which catapulted her into the top 10 after opening rounds of 71 and 75 had her well back in the pack.
It was the Musselburgh exile's best performance since she won the Gettysburgh Challenge on the Futures Tour last summer.
Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire had scores of 72, 74 and 75 to finished tied 61st on 221. She earned $505.
Winner Vicky Hurst, who turned pro while still at high school - she graduates next month - and after a stellar junior tournament career in the States, scored 67, 67 and 64 for an 18-under-par total of 198. She beat the previous lowest 54-hole total - 16-under-par by Grace Park, set in 1999.
