Danielle's solid start to Central
Regional Championship

Danielle McVeigh from Kilkeel, Northern Ireland and a student at Texas A&M University was joint 10th on one-under-par 71 after the first round of the NCAA Division 1 women's Central Regional college championship at the University of Texas course, Austin (par-72, 6301yd).
Danielle, winner of the women's world students golf title in Thailand last year and a candidate for Curtis Cup selection, had birdies at the fifth, ninth, 15th and 16th but bogeys at the first, 11th and 13th.
She was recently named to the Big-12 Conference women's team - a tribute to her consistent play all season.
England's Ellie Givens (Denver) opened with a double bogey 6 but compensated with an eagle at the 15th and a birdie at the long fifth. She did drop further shots at the seventh, 11th and 18th in returning a 74 for joint 30th position.
Tara Delaney (Kent State) from Carlow, Ireland, who lost her Curtis Cup place this year, had a 78 to be in joint 66th position. Tara had only six pars, birdieing the third, ninth and 14th and bogeying the remainder of the holes.
Twice past Welsh girls champion Lucy Gould (East Tennessee State) had double bogeys at the long fifth and the long 11th in halves of 39 and 41 for an 80 and a share of 81st place. Lucy did birdie the ninth and 10th.
Team-mate Sinead O'Sullivan from Galway had an 83 for a share of 97th place in a field of 108.
Sinead had a double bogey 6 at the fourth in halves of 41 and 42. She was nine over par after only 13 holes.
Spain's Maria Hernandez has a hole in one on her inward half, helping her to end the day in second place on 66, one off the pace being set by Maria Jose Uribe (UCLA).
