Jamie-Leigh Voss (14) wins Leicestershire
and Rutland county championship

PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Scratch golfer Jamie-Leigh Voss has won the Leicestershire and Rutland county championship at Longcliffe – at the age of 14. The Kirby Muxloe golfer is believed to be the youngest to hold the title. She became champion when she defeated county vice captain and former winner Jo Morris (Willesley Park) 7 and6 in the 36-hole final.
Jamie-Leigh had seven birdies during the first 18 holes of the final. Jamie-Leigh is also the Leicestershire schools’ champion, which she won at Cosby.
She’s fresh from an impressive performance at the English women’s championship at Ganton where she was joint leader at the halfway stage of the qualifying rounds and successfully reached the match-play stages.
