Bronte sets English Under-13 pace

PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Cheshire’s Bronte Law scored a level par 74 to set the first round pace in the English Under-13 girls’ championship at Ramside, Durham.
The 13-year-old is one shot ahead of Northamptonshire’s Charley Hull (Kettering) who shot to fame when she won a national competition at the age of nine.
Three strokes further back is Dorset’s Georgia Hall (Ferndown).
Bronte, who plays at Bramhall and is a member of the English Women’s Golf Association Super Birdies North Squad, made a flying start to her round. She eagled the par-5 second and reached the turn at one-under par.
The two-handicapper had two bogeys and a birdie on her way home.
After the second qualifying round the leading 18 players and ties will qualify for the 18-hole final round on Thursday.
