Fistful of dollars for Vikki Laing

but Pamela Feggans nosedives

Vikki Laing achieved her best finish of the US Futures Tour season so far with joint fourth behind runaway winner Vicky Hurst in the Cigna Classic at Gillette Ridge Golf Club, Bloomfield, Connecticut on Sunday.
Vikki, from Musselburgh, had scores of 72, 73 and 74 for a total of three-over-par 219 over the par-73, 6401yd course. She earned $4,895.
In contrast, Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire had a nightmare final round of 86 in which everything that could go wring in a swirling wind, did go wrong. She had put herself in the picture with a second-round 71 after opening with a 72 but "lost it" over the last round. Finishing joint 64th of the 70 qualifiers, she earned $530 when she had the chance to pick up at least three times that sum.
Rookie Vicky Hurst won for the fourth time this season on the Futures Tour, having eight shots to spare with a seven-under-par total of 209, made up of 68, 73 and 68. Her final round in the wind was a class act. Her cheque was for $11,200.
