Ann Ramsay loses in Strathtyrum Trophy
tournament final for second year in a row

Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir), 26-year-old former Scottish Universities and Angus county champion, lost in the final of the Strathtyrum Trophy women's tournament at St Andrews for the second year in a row.
Ann was beaten 4 and 3 in the 18-hole final over the Eden course by Kent teenager Jerry Lawrence who was making her debut in the very popular holiday tournament at the Home of Golf.
The 18-year-old English player won her semi-final by 3 and 2 against the top qualifier and Scotland cap Gemma Webster (Hilton Park), who plays for Ohio State University on the US college circuit.
Ramsay defeated Scots-born Elaine Clark (Manchester) by one hole in the other semi-final.

Semi-finals - A Ramsay (Kirriemuir) bt E Clark (Manchester) 1 hole, J Lawrence (Rochester & Cobham Park) bt G Webster (Hilton Park) 3 and 2.
Final - Lawrence bt Ramsay 4 and 3.
