CARLY AND KELSEY MAKE GOOD
START IN BELGIUM


Scotland's girls did better than Scotland's boys on the opening day of the Belgian Junior Nations tournament at Royal Golf Club Belgium near Brussels today.
Carly Booth from Comrie shot a one-over-par 73 to be one shot behind the joint leaders, both from Wales, Katherine O'Connor and Amy Boulden.
Curtis Cupper Carly started with an eagle 3 but had to birdie the 16th and 18th after a double bogey at the 15th.
Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) was in joint fifth position with a 74 which included a double bogey at the ninth and bogeys at the 14th, 17th and 18th. Kelsey did birdied the fourth and 11th.
The Scots girls as a team are lying second on 147 to Wales' 144.
David Law from Hazlehead had a four-over-par 76 to be in joint 28th position behind the leaders, Rory McNamara (Ireland) and Denmark's Mads Sogaard, both on 68.
Paul Shields (Kirkhill) had a 78 to be sharing 44th place.
The Scots boys as a team are in joint 12th place on 154 behind joint leaders on 145, Wales and Ireland.
