Carly drops back into share of second

place as Spanish girl goes clear

Overnight leader Carly Booth fell from grace with a third-round 78 in the Belgian junior international golf tournament at Royal Golf Club Belgium today.
The Comrie 16-year-old starts the final round on Saturday in joint second place with Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) nand Katherine O'Connor (Wales), seven shots behind the new pacemaker, Spain's Ana Fernandez de Mesa.
Carly had an erratic round of three birdies, at the first, seventh and 18th, but, on the debit side, she had a double bogey at the second and seven bogeys at regular intervals.
Kelsey too had an up-and-down round but she manage to salvage a one-over-par 73. She eagled the first hole, a par-5, but then bogeyed the seventh and double bogeyed the sixth and par-3 12th before finishing with birdies at the 13th and 17th.
The individual title may now be out of reach reach of the Scots but they still lead the team title race on 440, one shot ahead of Spain with Wales (445 (third).
In the boys' event David Law (Hazlehead) and Paul Shields (Kirkhill) are outwith the leading 20 on 221 and 222 respectively.
They are 13 shots behind leaders Wales in the boys' team event.
