win Shire lady-girl greensomes with 72

Curtis Cup player and Scottish champion Michele Thomson teamed up with McDonald Ellon clubmate Kirsten MacCallum to win the KPMG-sponsored Aberdeenshire lady-girl greensomes competition at Oldmeldrum Golf Club today.
They had a scratch round of one-over-par 72 to win by four shots from the Murcar Links' pairing of Laura McLardy and Samantha Leslie.
Ann Smart (Banchory) and Kristina Vannet (Peterculter) were third with an 80.
Deeside's Jayne Leith and Vicki Powell, playing off 22 1/2, won the leading handicap award with a net score of 63 1/2.
Twenty pairings took part. Pictured on right above are the Kirsten MacCallum and Michele Thomson with Laura McLardy, this time in her role as representatives of tournament sponsors KPMG. Laura is a senior manager tax for the company in Aberdeen (Cal Carson Golf Agency image).
