Paisley and Renwick down the field

in Ping/Golfweek Preview

Tennessee University students Chris Paisley from Newcastle and freshman Darren Renwick from Worthing, Sussex finished joint 31st and 61st respectively in a field of 75 players for the Ping/Golfweek Preview at Inverness Golf Club, Toledo, Ohio.
Over a 7,255yd course with a testing par of 71, Paisley, pictured above, scored 75, 76 and 70 for an eight-over-par total of 221. Renwick, who won the Scottish Under-16 open stroke-play title at Longniddry in 2005, scored 76, 77 and 78 for 231.
There was a tie at the top of the leaderboard on six-under-par 207 between Morgan Hoffman (Oklahoma State) and Sweden's Robin Wingardh (Tennessee). Hoffman scored 69, 66 and 72, Wingardh 69, 67 and 71.
Generally, there is a play-off in these situations but no indication of it or a result on the otherwise GolfStat college golf scores service.
Trent Leon (Oklahoma State) was third on 209 (70-73-66) with Rickie Fowler (Oklahoma State) fourth on 210 (68-69-73).
Oklahoma State won the team title with a total of 843, compared to runners-up Tennessee's 859.
Georgia (861) were third, Southern California (867) fourth, Alabama (868) fifth and Arizona State (870) 6th in a field of 15 teams.
