BANCHORY STUDENT WINS
WISCONSIN PLAY-OFF
Adam Lindsay from Banchory, a junior (third year) student at Iowa Wesleyan College in America, survived a sudden-death play-off to win the Ronnie Eastman Invitational men's college golf turnament at La Crosse Country Club, Onalaska in Wisconsin on Monday.
Lindsay tied with Dusty Drenth (St Ambrose University) on 146 and then won the individual title at the second hole of a sudden-death play-off.
Lindsay (pictured right) had two rounds of 73 over the 6,714 (par 72) lay-out. Drenth, who had won a tournament on a play-off the previous week, scored 75 and 71.
Londoner Adam Saych, one of Lindsay's Iowa Wesleyan team-mates, finished joint 11th on 152 with a pair of 76s.
Iowa Wesleyan (610) finished third behind Wisconsin Eau Claire University and Viterbo University, both 607, in the team title event which went to Wisconsin after a play-off.
