Carley helps Belmont Abbey College
score first win of new season
Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina junior (third year) student Carley Warrington from the Derbyshire village of Bradwell has followed up her fifth place in the Sea Trail Invitational - in which she shot the Myrtle Beach tournament low of 69 in her final round - by finishing 12th with a pair of 80s in the Tusculum Fall Classic over a par-72 course at Links Hill Country Club.
Carley, pictured above, 20 past July, is a member of Sickleholme Golf Club, Bamford, and was her Conference Freshman of the Year in 2007.
Her efforts in the Tusculum Fall Classic helped Belmont Abbey College to win the team event by six shots from Wingate University. It was Belmont Abbey's first win of the season, a big improvement from eighth place in the Sea Trail Invitational.
Ashton Ingram from Fort William is also a student at Belmont Abbey College but is not figuring in the team at the moment.
