Stirling & RGU student girl golfers
heading off to Florida tour in January

Five Stirling University students and two from Aberdeen's Robert Gordon University are escaping the Scottish winter to play next month on Florida's Orange Blossom Tour for women amateur golfers.
The Stirling students are Scottish Under-21 and Scottish schoolgirls champion Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), pictured on right, junior international Rebecca Wilson (Monifieth) and Rachel Cassidy (The Island, Dublin) from Ireland and England's Holly Calvert (Lancaster) and Harriet Beasley (Woburn).
The RGU pair are Scotland international Laura Murray (Alford) and girl cap Jane Turner (Craigielaw).
Stirling University women's golf coach Lesley Mackay, a former Scotland interational and originally from Golspie, will accompany the players.
The events they are playing in are:
January 7 to 10: Harder Hall Invitational at Harder Hall Country Club, Sebring.
January 14 to 17: South Atlantic women's amateur championship at Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach.
January 19 to 24. Jones/Doherty match-play championship at Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale..
The trip has been organised by Raleigh Gowrie, Stirling University's sports performance manager, who has been sending female student squads to the Florida tour for the past three or four years.
