P&K player Eve Muirhead makes
Scottish curling history - now for
Vancouver and then Korea!
FROM DAWN BUTCHART, Perth & Kinross county captain
Huge congratulations go to P&K squad member Eve Muirhead who made her own piece of curling history on Sunday. Eve won 10-5 over Stirling’s Kelly Wood in the final of the Columba Cream Scottish Ladies Championship.
This makes Eve, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, the youngest-ever skip to become national champion – in a season where she already holds the Scottish Junior Crown (not to mention the World Junior title). This is a massive achievement for Eve who was extremely quick to praise her curling team mates.
Eve's performance in the final will be screened on BBC1 at 11.20pm tomorrow (Tuesday, February 24).
Eve will now make her way to Vancouver for the World Junior Curling Championships from March 5 to 15, then onto Korea from March 21 to 29 for the World Ladies Curling Championships.
Good Luck from us all at P&K.
