Fife champion Fiona toppled at 19th by Diane Watson
Fiona Hastie, pictured right, the defending champion in the Fife women's county golf championship, was knocked out in today's quarter-finals of this year's championship at Kirkcaldy Golf Club.
St Regulus club, St Andrews member Fiona, a member of the Scottish Golf Union staff and a past Scottish champion, looked set for a place in the semi-finals when she was two up with two to play against the No 10 qualifier, Diane Watson (Lundin Ladies).
But Fiona, the No 2 seed, lost both the 17 and 18th and also the 19th. Diane plays Lorna Bennett (Ladybank) in Sunday's semi-finals.
The other penultimate tie will feature Scotland international Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) against youngster Ashleigh Wilton (Ladybank).
