Hannah named Big 12 Golfer of Month, then
comes 3rd in Oklahoma
Hannah Burke, a student at Baylor University, Texas, had very good week on the American college golf circuit.
She was named as the Big 12 Conference Golfer of the Month of March for a number of high-placed finishes.
AND Hannah finished joint third in a field of 89 players for the Berning Classic women's college event at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.
Miss Burke, picture by courtesy of the English Women's Golf Association, scored 78, 79 and 74 for a total of 231, six shots behind the winner, Kendall Dye (Oklahoma) with 77-75-73.
Although Oklahoma players finished 1-2 in the event - Ellon Mueller was second on 229 - it was Baylor who won the team title, thanks to Hannah Burke's stout effort and the fact that Baylor managed to have four players finish in the top 20.
Baylor (941) won by three shots from Oklahoma in a field of 15 teams
Incidentally, another English player, Laura Jones, a student at Oklahoma City University, finished tied 56th on 253 with disappointing scores of 82, 89 and 82.
