Olivia Jordan-Higgins finishes 2nd
in Big South Championship
Channel Islander Olivia Jordan-Higgins finished runner-up in the Big South Women's Championship at The Patriot Golf Club, at the quaintly-named historic town of Ninety Six, South Carolina this week.
Olivia, pictured right, from Jersey, a student at Charleston Southern University, had scores of 75, 70 and 75 for a total of 220 over a par-72 course of 5,956yd.
She finished two shots behind the title winner, Spain's Aruka Felgueroso (Coastal Carolin) with scores of 73, 69 and 76 for 218.
The pair finished well clear of a field of 45 players. The third placed player, Sara Hester (Winthrop) was eight shots behind Olivia on 228.
Hannah Coles (Radford University, Virgina), a member at Maxstoke Park Golf Club, Warwickshire, finished 12th in a field of 45 players with scores of 85, 76 and 76 for 237.
Coastal Carolina (911) won the team event ahead of Charleston Southern (929) and Winthrop (935) in a field of nine teams.
SINEAD O'SULLIVAN SEVENTH IN ATLANTIC SUN CHAMPIONSHIP
Ireland's Sinead O'Sullivan and Lucy Gould from Wales, both students at East Tennessee State University, came seventh and joint 23rd respectively in a field of 58 players for the Atlantic Sun Championship at Victoria Hills Golf Club, Deland in Florida.
Sinead had scores of 72, 76 and 76 for a total of 224 over a par-72 course of 6,056yd.
Former Welsh girls champion Ludy shot 77, 78 and 78 for 233.
Individual winner was Danielle Jackson (Stetson) with 71, 73 and 69 for 213, finishing two shots ahead of Stetson team-mate Lauren Cafe (73-71-71).
Not surprisingly with a 1-2 individual finish, Stetson also won the team title, but only by two shots from Campbell University (883) with East Tennessee State (904) third of 10 teams.
