Loretto's Philip Buckendorf wins individual
title, Wellington College take team award
Philip Buckendorf from Loretto School, Musselburgh won the individual trophy and Wellington College, Berkshire's Alexandra Peters, her brother Ed Peters and Jordan Mann won the team trophy at the end of the Independent Schools Golf Assocation's two-day championships over the Kittocks course at Fairmont St Andrews this week.
Seventeen school teams from all over the United Kingdom took part as finalists from a starting entry of 120 schools.
Buckendorf had rounds of 75 and 74 for a total of 149 in wet and blustery conditions. He won by one shot from Rudy Hercik (RGS Worcester) who scored 76 and 74 for 150.
Jack Candy (St Josephs) was third on 152 (77-75).
Wellington College won the team title by five shots with a total of 310. RGS Worcester (315) were second and Loretto B and Millfield Boys tied for third place on 316.
