Charlene finishes joint second in

NCAA Division 2 championship

Charlene Reid from Ballymoney, Northern Ireland - a student at Pfeiffer University - finished joint second in a field of 72 players at the NCAA Division 2 women's championship at Findlay Country Club, Findlay in Ohio.

Charlene, pictured right, finished the championship with scores of 70, 80, 77 and 73 for a 12-over-par aggregate of 300, only two shots behind the winner, Lindsay McBride (Indianapolis) who had rounds of 74, 75, 72 and 77 for 298.
Charlene's opening round of two-under-par 70 was the best of the round and her closing 73 was also the best of the round. In that 73, Charlene had only three deviations from par - a birdie at the second and bogeys at the 14th and 15th. Her second round was marred by two double bogeys and she had one triple bogey in her third round.
Sandra Changkija (Nova Southeastern) tied with Charlene for second place. Sanda scored 76, 74, 75 and 75 for 300.
Nova Southeastern (1230) won the team title ahead of Grand Valley State (1245) and Rollins College and Indianpolis (both 1248). Charlene was competing as an individual. The Pfeiffer University team did not qualify for the championship.

Laura helps Oklahoma City retain title

Royal Liverpool Golf Club member Laura Jones from Cheshire helped Oklahoma City University retain the NAIA Women's Championship over the Meadowbank municipal course at Rapid City, South Dakota.
Laura scored 76, 80, 80 and 82 for a total of 318 to finished joint 19th in a field of 94 players. Team-mates Sydney Cox (297) and Ashley Scholer (300) finished first and second.
Oklahoma City won the team title by 33 shots from runners-up Bethel in a field of 28 teams.

Emma and Hannah fourth and fifth in Florida

Emma Taylor from Devon and Dorset's Hannah Bews, both students at Bethune Cookman College at Daytona Beach, Florida, finished fourth and joint fifth respectively in the NMCGC (National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship) at PGA Golf Club, Port St Lucie in Florida.
Over a par-72, 5930yd course, Emma scored 76, 76 and 80 for 232 while Hannah had rounds of 80, 84 and 74 for 238.
Winner was M J Camey (Texas-Pan American) with a total of nine-over-par 225.
Texas-Pan American (922) won the team title from Bethune Cookman College (944) with Hampton University (1027) third.
