Jill Harrison's 4th Stirlingshire title -
21 years after her third success
Linlithgow’s Jill Harrison won the Stirlingshire women’s county golf championship for a fourth time - 21 years after her third success.
Jill beat Vikki Stevenson (Stirling) by one hole in the final at Linlithgow – Harrison’s home club – on another evening of bad weather.
Stevenson was one up after 11 holes but Harrison then swung the final her way with a decisive run of wins at the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th holes, which put her three up with three to play.
Stevenson was not finished yet. Playing in her second final – she was beaten in 2006 – Vikki pluckily prolonged the match by winning the 16th and 17th but the 18th was halved, leaving Harrison the winner by one hole.
