LANARKSHIRE PAIR WIN WEST

INTER-COUNTY FOURSOMES


Lanarkshire's Fiona Scott (Bothwell Castle) and Lesley Lloyd (Hayston), picture right by courtesy of Carol Fell, won the West inter-county foursomes at Pollok today.
With halves of 39 over a 6,022yd course playing long on a bright but very wind day, Lesley and Fiona's round of 78 won the scratch section by three shots from Dunbartonshire & Argyll's Isobel Harvey (St Rule) and Aileen Baker (Hilton Park).
Ayrshire's Liz Keohone and Audrey Thomson, both members at Loudoun Gowf, finished third with an 83.
In the handicap event the qualifiers found it tough with the winners being Dunbartonshire & Argyll's Dorothy Woodger and Maida Grant (both Hilton Park members) with a net 83 1/2 off 15 1/2.
They won by half-a-shot from Renfrewshire's Morag Turner and Beatrice Orr, both Kilmalcolm, who scored 84 1/2 off 13 1/2
