BELL’S EFFORTS RING TRUE AT FALDO

SERIES UK CHAMPIONSHIP

NEWS RELEASE
Eighteen-year-old Jonathan Bell clinched the Faldo Series UK Championship at Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club after finding some second-round form with the putter to finish on level par.
With a second-round 71, Bell from London won on a count-back, having finished equal on 144 with boys’ under-21 winner James Watts from Hertfordshire.
Watts, 21, and Bell were equally delighted however as both have earned themselves a place at the Faldo Series Grand Final in Brazil.
Bell commented after his win: “Solid putting made the difference from yesterday; I didn’t really miss any putts at all today. I’m delighted to be in the Grand Final. Playing in Brazil will be a wonderful experience and I’m really excited about meeting Nick.”
Supported by The R&A, the PGA and the European Tour, the 13th Grand Final will include all five age-category winners from Royal Ashdown Forest. The event will be hosted by Nick Faldo at the Itanhanga Golf Club in Rio de Janeiro from October 28 to 30, when more than 80 finalists from around the world will compete for a chance to follow in the footsteps of European Tour winners Nick Dougherty and Rory McIlroy.
