Ellie Givens plays part in Denver team triumph

Burke finishes third

Joint overnight leader Hannah Burke (Baylor University, Texas) from Herts slipped down to a final placing of third in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Club, Colorado.
Hannah, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency in action in the British amateur championship at Harlech in June, scored 71, 71 and 75 for 218 - three shots behind the Canadian-born winner Stephanie Sherlock (Denver) with 74, 69 and 72
Alice Kim (UC Davis) was second with 71, 74 and 71 for 216.
Darlington's Ellie Givens played her part in Denver University's team victory.
She improved from 12th after 36 holes to a final position of eighth, scoring 80, 71 and 74 for 225.
Denver team-mate Sarah Faller from Galway, Ireland finished joint 25th with scores of 76, 83 and 74 for 233.
Denver (879) scored an emphatic team win from UC Davis (893) with Baylor (898) third of the 13 competing teams.
