CARLY SHOWS HER CLASS TO LEAD IN BRAZIL

Comrie teenager Carly Booth surged two strokes clear of the girls' championship field on the second day of the Nick Faldo Series Grand Final at Itanhanga Golf Club, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today.
The 17-year-old Carly had an excellent second round of 70 over the par 72 laldies' course, improving by seven strokes on her first-day score of 77 when the players had to cope with torrential rain.
With one round to go, Carly is on 147 - two shots ahead of English girls' champion and fellow Curtis Cup squad member Holly Clyburn (Woodhall Spa) who has had rounds of 79 and 70 for 149.
Former English women's amateur champion Hannah Barwood (Knowle) is on 152 with scores of 78 and 74.
The lowest 36-hole totals in the boys' championships - boys' course par is 72 - have been achieved by Jonathan Bell (Royal Blackheath) and James Watts (East Herts) who are both on the five-under-par 139 mark.
Bell leads the Under-18s boys section with rounds of 70 and 69 while Watts is the Under-21 boys' leader after a superb second round of eight-under-par 64, including six birdies and an eagle 3 at the fifth. His first round was a 75.
