Improving Gemma Hardie makes top
10 at Tulsa, Oklahoma
Gemma Hardie from Scunthorpe, a sophomore student at Central Arkansas University, finished joint ninth of 74 in the Oral Roberts University Shootout women's college tournament over three rounds at Meadowbrook Country Club, Tulsa in Oklahoma.
Over a par-72 course of 6,196yd, Gemma, pictured right, had improving rounds of 81, 77 and 75 for a total of 233. Had it been a four-round event, she might have made the top five!
Individual winner with a total of 224 was Angela Drane (University of Louisiana at Monroe) with scores of 76, 70 and 78.
Olivia makes top 20 at Bradenton, Florida
Channel Islander Olivia Higgins (Charleston Southern) finished joint 17th in a field of 87 for the Waterlefe Invitational women's college competition at Waterlefe Golf Club, Bradenton, Florida.
Olivia had rounds of 72, 78 and 77 for a total of 227 over a shortish par-72 course of 5,998yd.
Anna Carling, from Vale of Glamorgan and a freshman at Arkansas State University, came joint 28th on 231, made up of rounds of 77, 80 and 74.
Winner was Taylor Collins (Nova Southeastern University) with three steady rounds of 70, 69 and 71 for six-under-par 210.
