JAMES WHITE AND SUSAN JACKSON TOP OF THE CLASS AT

LADYBANK STUDENTS' ORDER OF MERIT COMPETITION

James White, Andrew Wallace and Bobby Rushford provided a Stirling University 1-2-3 finish to the men's section while Susan Jackson (Edinburgh University) prevented another Stirling success in the women's category of the Scottish Universities Golf Order of Merit stroke-play event at Ladybank.
Former Scottish boys champion White, a member of Lundin Golf Club, Fife, had two classy rounds of 68 and 66 for an eight-under-par total of 134.
He won by five shots from Andrew Wallace (69-70) with Bobby Rushford (72-69) third on 141.
Susan Jackson, playing over her home Ladybank course, spreadeagled the women's field with a brilliant opening round of two-under-par 69. She cooled off a little with a second-round 77 for 146 but still won by six shots from Stirling University's Irish international player Rachel Cassidy (80-72) with Gemma Bradbury (St Andrews University), who helped Wales retain the women's home internationals title at Irvine last month, in third place with scores of 74 and 81 for 155.
Stirling A won the men's team title by 24 strokes. They were represented by James White, Andrew Wallace, Bobby Rushford and Colin Thomson.
Edinburgh won the women's title title by 10 shots. They were represented by Susan Jackson, Emma Fairnie and Isla Craigie.
