Rising star from Essex Daisy Dyer enters

Hacienda del Alamo Festival

Essex teenager Daisy Dyer is the latest high-profile player to enter the 2010 Hacienda del Alamo Women's & Girls' Golf Festival at the five-star Murcia Golf Resort from February 13 to 20.
Here's what the English Women's Golf Association website had to say about Daisy, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, earlier in the summer:

Essex teenager Daisy Dyer set a new course record on her way to a six-shot victory in the inaugural EWGA East Region girls’ championship at The Links, Newmarket.
Daisy, from Chigwell, shot a three under par 69 in the first round, followed by a two-over 74. Her morning score is a new course record following alterations lengthening the course.
The record was one of a string of achievements for Daisy, 18, who is a member of EWGA’s Select South East Squad. It was the first time she had broken 70 in competition and, as this was her last junior event, it meant she signed off in style.
“I am really pleased, I really wanted to win this,” she said. Her win also marked an impressive return from injury after she sprained her wrist at the British girls’ championship. “Just two days ago I thought I would have to withdraw,” said Daisy.

More details and an entry form for the Hacienda del Alamo Festival can be obtained by clicking on the relevant words at the top of the left hand column on this website's Home Page.
Among the early entrants are English women's champion Charlie Douglass, English girls' champion Holly Clyburn and British women's stroke-play championship runner-up Hannah Turland.
They all played in this year's Festival - and went on to have super seasons.
The Curtis Cup selectors will be studying the results from the 2010 Hacienda del Alamo Festival because they are picking the team of eight for the United States match before the end of April.
