LAST YEAR'S LANARKSHIRE FINALISTS

MEET IN FIRST ROUND THIS TIME

Lanarkshire women's county champion Fiona Norris (Hamilton) ) opens the defence of her title at Hayston Golf Club tomorrow by playing Joanna Scott (Cathkin Braes) who she beat by 5 and 4 in last year's final.
Fiona qualified third yesterday (Wed) with a 76, three over the CSS) while Joanna is the 14th qualifier with an 86.
Lesley Lloyd (Hayston), pictured, the Lanarkshire county captain, earned the No 1 seed berth with a 73, two over the standard scratch but equal to the day's CSS.
No 2 qualifier is the 2008 county champion, Susan Wood (Drumpellier) who returned a 74.

Pam Rice was the leading qualifier for the Bronze Championship.

Adelia McEwan (Hayston) won the Centenary Trophy with the best net score, a 70.
