Baberton retain the Edinburgh Interclub Salver

The Edinburgh Interclub is a double foursomes knockout matchplay tournament held from 6th to 8th May between clubs in the Edinburgh area.  The venue this year was Musselburgh Golf club.

In the first semifinal the Broomieknowe started slow, but came back to beat Lothianburn, allowing them a nice long lunch break.  The other semi final was a very close match between Craigmillar Park and Baberton, with Baberton winning through at the 18th hole.

After a quick lunch, players were back on the 1st for the final.  Representing Broomieknowe were, Wendy Nicholson, Hannah Scott, Katherine Anderson, and Kate McIntosh; and representing Baberton were Karen Marshall, Fiona de Vries, Katherine Logan, and Fiona Hunter.  Baberton took an early lead in both matches, but Broomieknowe contained for several holes, until Baberton's consistency paid off and they won after 16/15 holes.  Team 1 were 3 up after 16 holes, and team 2 were 5 up after 15 holes. Congratulations to Baberton, they have retained the trophy.
