Emma Taylor jt 2nd in Minority Championship

Emma Taylor, a senior student from Saunton, rounded off her years at Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach by finishing joint second in the PGA Minority Championship over the PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker course (par 72, 5930yd) at Port St Lucie, Florida.
Emma, pictured, had rounds of 74, 75 and 70 for a three-over-par total of 219, three shots behind the individual champion and team-mate Kimberly Wong who scored 70, 71 and 75 for 216.
Another Bethune Cookman senior student, Hannah Bews from Dorset finished joint seventh in a field of 24 with a total of 232, made up of scores of 78, 75 and 79.
Bethune Cookman (885) won the team event by the resoundng margin of 53 strokes at the head of a field of seven teams.
Tom Berry third in Mountain West Conference Championship
Tom Berry, a San Diego State University freshman student from Surrey, finished third in the men's Mountain West Conference Championship over the Tucson National course, Arizona.
Berry had rounds of 71, 65 and 72 for a total of five-under-par 208, which was a very good effort over a longish course (7,144yd) with a par of 71.
Berry finished three shots behind the winner Ryan Peterson (Colorado State) who got to eight-under-par 205 with scores of 70, 65 and 70.
Tom's San Diego State team-mate and also from Surrey, Andrew Cooley finished joint 16th in a field of 45 players with a total of 216 (73-72-71).
Colorado State ()834) won the team title ahead of San Diego State (847) in a field of nine teams.
