Laura Walker leads P & K qualifiers with

super 74 at Blairgowrie Lansdowne

Former Scottish girls champion Laura Walker (Muckhart), pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, earned the top seeding in the match-play stages of the Perth & Kinross women's county golf championship with an excellent round of 74 in the qualifying round over the Blairgowrie Lansdowne course this evening.
Laura's round was two under the CSS of 75 and four ahead of three players on the 78 mark, No 2 seed Jillian Milne (Craigie Hill), former Scotland cap Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) and Jacqueline Sneddon (Alyth), home from Grand Canyon University, Arizona.
The No 5 seed is a Muckhart junior Eilidh Watson who looked as though she was going to have the second best score on the night until she ran up a triple bogey 7 at the very last hole and had to settle for an 80 - still a very good score for a youngster in none too easy conditions.
Susan MacDougall (Aberfeldy), playing off 25, was the leading qualifier for the Handicap Championship with a net 73.
