MUCKHART YOUNGSTER EILIDH FACES TOUGH

TEST IN BLAIRGOWRIE SEMI-FINAL

Muckhart junior Eildidh Watson’s bid to become one of the youngest winners of the Perth& Kinross women’s county golf championship since Carly Booth in 2005 faces its severest test yet in Sunday morning’s semi-finals over the Blairgowrie Lansdowne course.
Young Eilidh beat Gwen Lambie (Dunkeld & Birnam) by 2 and 1 to reach the last four in which she will play the No 1 seed and 2008 champion, Laura Walker, who is also a member at Muckhart Golf Club.
Laura, a former Scottish girls match-play champion, beat the 2007 title-w9inner Alexandra Bushby (Blairgowrie) by 4 and 3 in today’s quarter-finals.
The other semi-final is between former Scotland international Emily Ogilby (Auchterarder) and Jillian Milne (Craigie Hill), the 2006 county champion. In the quarter-finals, both had big-margin wins, Emily beating Fiona Ramsay (Crieff) by 7 and 5, while Jillian won by 7 and 6 against the 1998 and 2001 champion, Jane Yellowlees (Murrayshall).
