Rain hits Futures Tour Saturday play at Kansas City
Second-round play at the US Duramed Futures Tour's $100,000 Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City was suspended today due to rain rendering the course unplayable.
Play was suspended at 11:45 a.m. local time as rain fell on the already saturated course. "Today's rain, along with the rain we had earlier in the week, was too much for the course to handle," said Christy Barks, Vice-president of Tournament Operations.
"The course is just too wet to continue play and we'll resume Sunday to allow time for it to drain."
Wannasiri Sirisampant of Bangkok, Thailand, was the only player to complete second-round play. First-round leader, Ryann O'Toole, of San Clemente, California, who carded a 6-under-par 65 Friday, had yet to tee off before the suspension.
