Sally Watson qualifies for US Women's Open

Curtis Cup Scot Sally Watson has qualified to play in the United States Women’s Open golf championship at Oakmont Country Club, Pennsylvania from July 8 to 11 .
Sally had rounds of 71 and 79 for 150 over a 6,572yd, par-72 course and claimed the last of the four qualifying places available in the 36-hole sectional tournament at Corral de Tierra Country Club in California where the 18-year-old from South Queensferry - Elie in Fife is now the family home - is a student at Stanford University .
In the sectional qualifier at Plantation Bay Country Club, Ormond Beach in Florida , Laura Davies walked off the course after 27 holes.
Sally will now be unavailable for selection for the Scotland team to compete in the European women's amateur team championship at La Manga, Spain from July 6 to 10.
