Yorkshire’s Neeve Fisher, 14, wins North regional medal final

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Teenager Neeve Fisher left the field trailing when she scored net 65 to win the EWGA North regional medal final at Crompton & Royton, Lancashire. The competition series is run in association with Volvo.
Neeve, 14, from Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, leads 10 qualifiers for the EWGA Grand Medal Final which will take place at The Worcestershire Golf Club on June 26.
She finished seven shots ahead of her closest rival and said afterwards: “It was a special score, it’s probably my best-ever round”
Neeve was introduced to golf by her father, David, who caddied for her. She started playing a couple of years ago and last year reduced her handicap from 36 to 28. This season she’s already come down to 23 and another cut is on the way. Her target is to get down to 15 this year.
This was one of six regional medal finals which are contested by players who each returned the four best medal scores at their club during 2009.
